A well informed community is an empowered one as well, so take a look at some of the latest coverage we’ve received below and help spread the word about all the amazing developments at CHETWYND ASTON & WOODCOTE PARISH COUNCIL.
Proposal to merge Church Aston Parish Council and Chetwynd Aston & Woodcote Parish Council into a new Parish Council called Church & Chetwynd Aston Parish Council.
Telford & Wrekin Council are proposing to merge Church Aston Parish Council and Chetwynd Aston & Woodcote Parish Council into a new Parish Council called Church & Chetwynd Aston Parish Council.
At a recent meeting of Chetwynd Aston & Woodcote Parish Council members discussed the Community Governance Review at length and focused the deliberations on:
-
Education
-
Crime
-
Elections
-
Health and social care
-
Access to services, including community facilities and shopping
-
Shared values on environment, development planning and community cohesion.
Members felt that though we would have liked to remain as the current form of Parish Councils, there were benefits to both communities by becoming as one. It was therefore resolved to support the proposals for the new Church & Chetwynd Aston Parish Council to be formed in May 2027, subject to the conditions that the warding for this new parish should be: Church Aston (5), Chetwynd Aston (4) and Woodcote (1) with lends to provide fairer representation for residents across the new parish as a whole.

Community Resource –
Oil Buying Club
Want to save money on your heating oil? We can help!
Now is the time to take advantage of cheaper heating oil. With the weather cooling down, we often see an increase in fuel prices as demand is much higher. But you can save money by being a part of our Oil Buying Club if you act quickly.
Community Resource is a local charity which runs a Community Oil Buying Club to reduce the heating costs of those living off gas. By bringing communities throughout Shropshire and the surrounding areas together we make the most of joint buying power, we can make savings and pass them directly to people like you whose fuel costs are high simply because you aren't connected to mains gas. Being a member of the club not only gives you great savings on your fuel bills but removes the often time-consuming task of ringing round suppliers for the best price.
With many local coordinators on hand to help those without email, and access to suppliers who can deliver to remote properties, the scheme can cater for everyone’s circumstances.
Membership to the club is £27 per year and enables us to cover the administration costs for running this scheme.
For more information, please visit our website or contact us at oil@community-resource.org.uk quoting SALC.
Next Order Deadline is Tuesday 12 November.

Bloor Homes - Hutchison Gate Phase 2
Have your say on plans for the next phase of Bloor Homes' Hutchison Gate Development
Bloor Homes will shortly be launching an online-based pre-application engagement with the local community on plans for the second phase of Bloor Homes’ Hutchison Gate development. The proposed phase will comprise 60 homes (35% of which will be affordable homes) on the parcel of land immediately south of the existing phase, west of the A518 and on the north side of The Dale. The proposals will include the retention of existing trees and hedgerows around the site perimeter, alongside additional landscape planting across the site. The existing Public Right of Way through the site will also be enhanced to improve accessibility.
Bloor Homes have prepared a community information leaflet which will be circulated via Royal Mail. This should start arriving with residents on Monday or Tuesday next week. The consultation will then continue until 14th July.
